New Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission

The creation of a high profile Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission is a very exciting development which will help to ensure that the support of local residents for swift climate action in our local district is amplified on a larger stage. They are currently recruiting commissioners via www.yorksandhumberclimate.org.uk.

The work being done in the background to strengthen our own local Coalition also gives us confidence that we will be able to gain momentum and demonstrate the impact of local people’s work towards net zero carbon emissions in Harrogate District. We need to end most of our emissions within the next ten years - so there is plenty for us all to get on with! Yes, you too!

More news about this to follow after our AGM in late February and after new volunteers settle into their roles around land-use, agriculture, buildings and energy.
